POSITION SUMMARY:

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings, while working to obtain financial resources to meet the organization’s goals and objectives. Lead all direct appeals, monthly giving & estate gift programs, donor stewardship engagements and donor societies. Work closely with the CDO to forecast, strategize and plan for annual revenue & donor growth. Duties also include prospect management, direct solicitations, cultivation, stewardship, executing overall fundraising efforts and general support of the development department, including assisting with special event fundraising efforts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead and grow all direct mailed appeals, the monthly giving program, the planned giving program and membership in donor societies through identifying, soliciting, cultivating and stewarding current and prospective donors.
  • Lead the estate gift strategy by managing an active portfolio of planned giving prospects and providing timely reports on progress and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement annual stewardship plans for existing donors through personal visits and timely, meaningful communications.
  • Lead the donor gratitude strategy, including executing engagement & recognition events.
  • Develop a donor pipeline focused on identifying prospects and driving timely engagement efforts to convert prospects into active supporters.
  • Analyze and interpret gift & constituent data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and inform strategic recommendations for new and renewed fundraising initiatives.
  • Prepare and present campaign reports to the Chief Development Officer, highlighting key metrics, donor cultivation opportunities, and strategies to increase revenue & donor growth. 
  • Develop and maintain budgets for all fundraising appeals, donor events, and donor society activities.
  • Work closely with the Chief Development Officer in responding to strategic organizational priorities by planning, setting, and monitoring annual goals aimed at supporting those priorities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Events, Database, Community Engagement and Program staff teams to strengthen donor stewardship opportunities. 
  • Support special event fundraising efforts by identifying, cultivating, and engaging individuals to serve on special event fundraising committees.
  • Serve as the agency’s lead contact for all stock gifts directed to the organization.
  • Participate in Development and Parish outreach activities as appropriate.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Preserve the ethical standards of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and the development profession.
  • Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required
  • Bachelor’s degree and preferred five years in fundraising campaign management and/or planned giving experience.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge, or comparable donor management software program required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate in a timely manner, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Skilled at strategizing, and working collaboratively toward a unified vision.
  • Self-starter and ability to work well independently and with diverse individuals and groups.
  • High motivation for success coupled with diplomacy, tact, excellent organizational, project management, and customer relations skills.  Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while working under pressure.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Bilingual Spanish Speaker preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and pro-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work during evenings and weekends as needed.
 
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must have the physical ability to make visits to a variety of office locations and environments across the agency’s 21-county service area.
  • Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others
  • Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving
 
**$65,000-$84,000 per year depending on experience
