JOB OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the leadership of the Finance Director/Controller, the Finance and Systems Manager oversees the design, implementation, maintenance and security of the organization’s financial and accounting team, systems and processes to support accuracy and accessibility of financial data, supporting effective analysis and recommendations and reporting meeting regulatory compliance. The manager leads the finance and systems’ compliance plan, to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), regulations and compliance standards for working directly with partners to audits and reporting requirements. The manager works directly with the director, Chief Impact Officer (CIO), Chief Operating Officer (COO) and across department and program leaders, with partners and vendors to financial systems management, maintaining software and solutions, testing, and supporting continual advancements to integrate and develop continual effectiveness and efficiencies. With systems management, the position leads the parallel processes, procedures and policies, to support best practices, analysis and reporting to financial data accuracy and integrity in a timely manner.
The role manages a team within a matrix model of accountability responsibilities, functions and metrics for the day-to-day operations, including but not limited to cash flow management, accounts payable, payroll, monthly, quarterly and annually reporting of statements and analysis to support the organization from programs and departments to the Board. The manager is responsible for the execution, audit and analysis, and reporting of the cash management and accounts payable plans, including vendor relationship and contract management across quarterly and annual metrics, working with fellow program and department leaders in regular engagement to review agreement terms, negotiations and ongoing effectiveness and efficiencies. The manager is responsible for the payroll systems, processes and analysis, supporting across organization leadership including human resources, with essential reporting, to benefits, tax, and general ledger reports, and advancing to emerging technologies and improvements.
The manager leads program and service advancement and feasibility studies and process, in working with leaders and the Finance Director/Controller. The process works in parallel with the revenue cycle and integrity program, involving assessment of market demand and trends, financial viability, technical and legal understanding, regulation and compliance considerations, to guide and determine feasibility. Ability KC is accredited through Commission Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) which the standards are integrated within the processes and procedures, to support building of optimizations, and continuous improvements and advancements. The manager supports the Finance Director/Controller with financial and systems initiatives, to the organization’s strategic plans and works within a matrix model with peer department leaders and across programs and services.
