M.A.R.C.H. is seeking board members who are committed to ensuring every family has access to support in resolving parental conflicts, reducing or eliminating the impact of childhood trauma caused by such conflicts, and advocating for systems that are better designed to serve Missouri families. 
 
Mission Statement: M.A.R.C.H. will provide mediation services to better serve the needs of the children of parents who are divorced, separated, or never married.
 
Type of Organization: M.A.R.C.H. is a nonprofit organization that links Missouri families to mediators, visit supervisors, and limited legal services. M.A.R.C.H. provides education and training for mediators, attorneys, and other professionals. 
 
M.A.R.C.H. is looking for an individual who has a blend of financial, organizational, and communication skills to serve as a treasurer on our board. The treasurer of the non-profit shall keep the non-profit books setting forth full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements; deposit and disburse money and render an account of all transactions and the financial condition of the corporation as required by the president and/or the board of directors; and perform such other duties as may be delegated by the board of directors.

The Treasurer will work closely with board members, committee members, and M.A.R.C.H.’s staff. They will maintain a professional working relationship with all members of the organization and the community to build community relations.  Candidates should have a passion for M.A.R.C.H.’s mission and improving the overall delivery of services. The treasurer will assist and contribute to maximizing M.A.R.C.H.’s financial potential to ensure long-term fiscal health and stability. 

Industry affiliations or community connections are valuable in supporting our mission and strengthening our financial standing. M.A.R.C.H. is looking for a Treasure that has some of the following affiliations or community connections: 
  • American Institute of CPAS (AICPA), local CPA organizations, or other Professional Associations 
  • National, Local, Regional, or Other Nonprofit-Specific Networks 
  • Finance Firms, Banks/Financial Institutions, Business Roundtables, Chamber of Commerce, etc.  
  • Government or Regulatory Affiliations  
  • Foundations, Grant-Making Bodies, Donor Networks, Wealth Management Firms, or Other Philanthropic Organizations 
  • Community or Civic Groups 
  • Educational Institutions  
Our board members serve a three-year term. 
 
At a minimum, the treasurer and Secretary should be available to meet for regular quarterly meetings. These are two-hour meetings held via Zoom.  
 
** The treasurer and secretary will also be responsible for serving on at least one special committee and attending meetings as scheduled.** 
 
Board members will be asked to give a substantial financial donation, whether that be from a personal donation or fundraising. This can be a one-time donation each year or a pledge over several months during the year. 
 
Any additional board expectations: 
  • Commit to the mission of M.A.R.C.H. 
  • Be fiscally responsible & review, approve, and monitor the budget and fundraising 
  • Oversee and implement policies and programs 
  • Accept bylaws and operating principles and morally state that you are responsible for the health and well-being of M.A.R.C.H. 
  • Be willing to give or  fundraise a substantial financial donation 
  • Actively engage in fundraising and, in good faith, agree to raise as much money as possible 
  • Actively promote and serve as an advocate for M.A.R.C.H., Inc. 
  • Attend board meetings and special meetings, and be available via phone for consultations 
  • Share resources and talents with M.A.R.C.H. 
  • Maintain and promote high ethical standards 
M.A.R.C.H. provides Director & officer (D&O) liability insurance for those who are elected and serve on the M.A.R.C.H. board. D&O insurance protects board members against a breach of "duty" in the event of any actual or alleged error, misstatement, omission, or misleading statement.
